There was this lake park and recreation area (canoes, fishing, volleyball courts, playgrouds, etc.) that I used to go to in Quantico, Virginia. It got shut down because somebody was messing around in the wooded area that surrounds it and found WWII ordinances buried under some dirt and leaves. I did so much shit in probably that exact wood patch behind Bragg. There were many games of "ninja" played where we would just run everywhere, try to climb trees, kick the shit out of the ground and trees. One time my brother (2-3yo at the time) followed us into the woods despite being told not to. He got stuck in the middle of a thorn patch, and I didn't know because is.
